A Christmas Finale is a happy upbeat closing selection for a holiday concert. The introduction juxtaposes Deck the Halls with Good King Wenceslas and leads up to a canonic treatment of Jingle bells. An abrupt swing style at the same tempo introduces Up On The House Top.. The arranger envisioned Santa trying to sneak down the chimney, much like the Pink Panther sneaks around attics installing insulation. A stately rendition of O Christmas Tree contrasts woodwind and brass choirs, and an unusual march treatment of We Wish You a Merry Christmas closes the medley.
