Ramon Carnicer composed the Capriccio for bass with piano accompaniment expressly to be performed at first sight reading by the applicants to obtain a teacher's place of this instrument at The Real Conservatorio de Musica y Declamacion Maria Cristina. nowadays Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Madrid. He worked there as a teacher of composition since 1830 until his death. This revised edition by Jordi Soler keeps the original indications of the bass voice in the script of the piano part.
