This beautiful setting of text from the Mass of the Requiem combines mezzo soprano voice with marimba. With each verse, the music increases in intensity, both rhythmically and dynamically. Although the marimba plays primarily an accompanimental role, there are many brief cadenzas in which to shine. Very basic six-mallet technique is required in the last four measures of the piece.
