Published in 1879 by Boston: G.D. Russell and sometime during the 1870s (estimates NLA- possibly too early or too late?) simultaneously by Boosey and by Nicholson of Melbourne. The former source calls it a ballad. (The Russell is not the same plates- it lacks dedicatee, the text font and number of staves per page -once past the first page of score- is different, to begin with.)
